Rebel Lacrosse on Facebook!

After Sunday's alumni game (awesome game by the way), the coaches sat down to try and figure out a better way to make sure players and fans stay in contact with the team. The solution? Facebook.

We encourage you all to join the "Rebel Lacrosse" Facebook group. It will give us the chance to stay in contact with everyone after you graduate. It's also a great outlet to share your thoughts on seasons of the past, present, and future.

Thanks!

We will have a Rebel lacrosse team this summer! However, we need all those interested to get their registration forms into the Denver Lacrosse League as soon as possible. Go to www.denverlacrosse.org and follow these steps:

  • Click on HS Summer
  • Click on Registration
  • Download the Registration Form
  • Where it asks for Team/Coach, write in "Denver South"

This is great opportunity for Rebel Lacrosse to grow and start working more as a team. Contact either Coach Brookes or Coach Stringer for more information.

End of the Year Banquet

Our end of the year banquet is 2 weeks away! Please RSVP to Heidi Hoyt (heidihhoyt@aol.com) by THIS Friday.

Also, for those of you who still owe us uniforms, you need to get these to us. Your school treasurer has a copy of what you owe. If we don't receive anything, a hold will be put on your graduation. Thanks.

Thank You for a Great Season!

All of the coaches would like to thank the players and parents for a great season. We ended the year on high note, and wish to take this feeling into the summer and next season!

We will be playing in a summer league (stay tuned for details). Also, we encourage all of you to attend a camp over the summer. Deb Ellis (Alec's mom) has some great information on a camp in Baltimore from July 6th-10th. The link is below.

In the meantime, we'll see you all for the Alumni Game on May 17th and the end of year banquet on May 19th. Thanks again for all the support.

SOUTH LAX NIGHT WITH DU!!

We have an amazing fund raising opportunity! DU Lacrosse is hosting a South High School Lacrosse Night on Saturday, April 25th. They will be playing the Air Force Falcons.

Here's how it works:

Tickets are $9. For every ticket we sell as a team, we get $3 back. If we exceed 100 tickets sold, our team will get $5 back per ticket. It's a great way to share our excitement for lacrosse with all our friends and family. Plus, we get money back into our program to help out with gear, camps, summer leagues, and so on.

Please contact Heidi Hoyt for the order forms.

Team Pictures on Monday

Our team pictures will be taken on Monday, so it's very important that everybody (Varsity and JV) are there with your uniforms. For Varsity, we will be wearing the black jerseys. JV will wear the white.

The coaches will be handing out the order forms at the end of Friday's practice. If you want to order any pictures, you will have to have the forms with you on Monday.

Thanks and we will see you all at Richie's house tonight.

SATURDAY'S PRACTICE CANCELED

Due to the snow, we are canceling Saturday's 10 am practice. This does not mean you get the day off. Instead, find a partner, or even better, a wall and spend about an hour working on your weak hand.

We'll see you on Monday. Be ready. We have a tough home game against Windsor on Tuesday.

Spring Break Practice Schedule

Practice will be on the pump house field.

Rebel Lacrosse Gear/Team Dinner

If all goes to plan, we should receive the orders you placed sometime this week. As soon as they all arrive, we will contact you.

Again, we can't thank the parents and players enough for the support this year. Our team dinner at Bonnie Brae Tavern was not supposed to be a fundraiser, but with your generosity we raised quite a bit of money that has gone directly back into our program. Please know that your support has been noticed by not only us, but also the players. Team morale is high!

Another team dinner is in the works! Stay tuned for more information.

17-0!

Great game out there today! Everyone got a chance to play and we had quite a few firsts:
  • 1st career goal for Ethan Anderson (this is his first year)
  • 1st high school goal for Sam Miller
  • 1st goal of the year for Weston Rundle
  • 1st shut-out of the season
  • 4 almost goals for Marcus Jump (we'll get you one)
Above all, we played with respect and good sportsmanship (not a single penalty)! We are very proud of ALL the players. Have a restful weekend, and we'll see you on Monday.

What A Game!

Two goals in the last two minutes to push the game to overtime? Could you ask for a more exciting game?

Granted, we would have liked a better outcome, but hats off to our players! They played hard, and worked well as a team.

We're getting better with each game, and we can't thank the parents enough for your support. We hope you all received a roster for both JV and Varsity. If not, we have plenty more to hand out at Saturday's game against Englewood.
